Today I’m gonna talk about the 2015 movie, The Martian. Back by popular demand, I bring you the segment “My Fondest memory of that song” featuring Backstreet Boys - I want it that way.

THE Martian is a movie starring Matt Damon about an astronaut that gets stranded on mars by himself. He basically ends up becoming the first martian potato farmer. While potato farming on mars seems like something of science fiction, it’s actually science fact. ReKnown scientist, Fredrick Dempsey the 3rd said that potatoes can grow almost anywhere a human plants them. He has a video on the internet explaining his hypothesis - you should check it out. In today’s edition of “My fondest memory of that song” I’m gonna tell you a story about the Back street boys song - I want it that way. Let me take you back. Back to a simpler time. I like to call it THE 90s. In this case it was the late 90s. A friend of mine told me a story about an abandoned house out in the country where if you went at a specific time at nite, you could see a glowing figure walk across the yard. I had never heard this before but he swore HIS friends saw something. So being a sucker for a good road trip, we took his old Toyota truck(I mention this for a reason) and we headed out to the country one Friday nite. It took about an hour before we get to the spot. We shut everything off. There’s an old field across from the house. That’s where we watched. We must’ve sat there for what felt like 20 mins. All of a sudden we hear what sounds like footsteps. We run. And I mean WE RUN FAST, towards his truck. We get to the truck, frantic. Turn the key. . Nothing. It won’t start. Turn the key again. Nothing. I’m over the top freaking out right now. He pops open the hood. Does some crazy “”fonzy” move and the trucks starts. He claims the battery comes unhooked all time. WELL when the engine comes on, the radio resets to some pop station. And low and behold, Backstreet Boys - I want it that way, is blaring thru the speakers. We were so scatterbrained, that we left it on till some other pop song came on. Then one of us came to our senses and we changed it. And those footsteps? No idea. Don’t know. Don’t care. ...and I kinda Want it that way. Thanks Backstreet Boys!
